What is the SCA?

The Barony of Marinus is part of the Society for Creative Anachronism an organization dedicated to the re-creation, study, and teaching of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.

Local Activities


    One of the best ways to get to know the local SCA participants is to come to one of our weekly events.  The first Thursday of every month from

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM we have a business meeting called, "Moot,"  If you come early to Moot, you'll have a chance to talk with some of the group's members and get answers to some of your questions.  Activity nights are held the other Thursdays of the month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM .

How do I Find Out About Events?

Except for the winter holidays and the first two weeks of August, the SCA usually holds events every weekend.  To find out when and where events are happening, go to the Marinus calendar or Kingdom of Atlantia calendar for the current month  On almost every Saturday, you'll see the name of an event,  the SCA group sponsoring the event, and the general location of the event.
